Maja Laura (Maja Laura Jaryczewska, born 1999) is a Polish artist and social activist. Pianist, vocalist, composer. President of the Effective Altruism Poland Foundation. Her musical route begins in a flat in Warsaw’s Mokotów district, where there stands an old, black piano with metal candlesticks used by her great-grandmother.

At the age of 5 or 6, she begins to study piano regularly, although she was offered the violin. After years of classical education, she studies jazz under Włodzimierz Nahorny and Sławek Jaskułke. In the same time, she also starts to study composition under Paweł Mykietyn. Since her high school years, she has also been trying to act in the field of alternative music, which is the result of being saturated from an early age with rock music created and listened to by her father (Oddział Zamknięty). In 2019 she joins the band Ścianka, which is one of the most important in the history of Polish alternative music. In 2022 her debut solo album „Bardo” will be released. Along with its release, the artist decided to create her own record label – Maja Laura Records. 

President of Effective Altruism Poland. Effective altruism is an idea whose essence is the use of scientific evidence to determine the most effective ways of doing good, which is to be the basis for direct action.
